Delivery

How much is UK delivery?

UK delivery is free on orders over £60. Below £60, Standard delivery is £5 and Express delivery is £10. The options available for your address are shown at checkout.

How long will my order take?

Standard delivery (Royal Mail) usually takes 3–5 business days. Express orders placed before 2pm on a working day are sent for next-working-day tracked delivery. Orders placed after 2pm, at weekends or on UK bank holidays are processed on the next working day. See our Shipping & Delivery page for full details.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Yes, we ship internationally. Delivery times and costs vary by destination and are calculated at checkout. International customers may need to pay import duties or taxes.

Returns

Can I cancel or return my order?

If you buy online, you normally have the right to cancel within 14 days under UK consumer law. Please read our refund policy for how this works for our products, and contact us before sending anything back. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Film care

How should I store film?

Keep unopened film somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight and heat – never leave it in a hot car. Many photographers keep film in the fridge to slow ageing; if you do, let it come up to room temperature for a couple of hours before opening to avoid condensation. Once loaded or shot, get film developed reasonably promptly.

Can I take film through airport X-ray?

Carry film in your hand luggage, never in checked baggage, as hold-luggage scanners are much stronger. Hand-luggage scanners are generally fine for most slower films, but repeated scans add up and high-speed films (ISO 800 and above) are more sensitive. Some airports now use CT scanners for cabin bags, which can be harsher on film. You can ask security staff for a hand check – it's at their discretion. Keep film in a clear bag so it's easy to inspect. Read more in our Film Journal guide to film storage and X-ray.

Can I use expired film?

Yes, but results vary. Expired film can show colour shifts, lower contrast and more grain, depending on how it was stored. A common approach is to overexpose by about one stop for every decade past expiry. Expired film we sell is clearly labelled as such and sold as expired.

Film lab

Do you develop film?

Yes – our London film lab offers C-41 colour and black & white developing, plus scanning. See Film Developing and Film Scanning.

Which film should I buy for my first camera?

An ISO 200 or 400 colour negative film is the most forgiving choice. Read our guide to the best 35mm film for beginners, or browse 35mm film.

Which instant film fits my camera?

Instax Mini, Instax Square and Instax Wide films are different sizes and are not interchangeable. Polaroid i-Type and 600 film are designed for different camera generations. Check your camera model before ordering, or ask us.
