About the Watch

Each COIN ORIGIN SILVER WHITE watch is set with a genuine 1960 British-Hong Kong One Dollar colonial coin, designed by sculptor and medallist Mr Cecil Thomas. Minted by Heaton and Sons — one of the world's longest-running private mints — the coin features a crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse, and the heraldic crest of the Colony on the reverse.

Born from a personal story: designer Hysan's grandmother collected 1960–90 Hong Kong dollar coins throughout her life. After she passed, Hysan used the collection to create a double-faced watch as a keepsake for family and friends. The response inspired Urban Time Imagination's Signature Series — The Coin Origin.
